Visita al Teatro en Inglés 2011 (4º a 7º grado)

“The New Sherlock”
A continuación, algunos ejemplos:

Los alumnos de 4º grado escribieron acerca de su personaje favorito.

“My Favourite Character”
My favourite character is Agna because she is very funny. She, instead of saying “Professor” said “Professooo”. She is Professor Moriarty’s assistant. She is very funny. She bothers the Professor when he is preparing his potions to kill Sherlock Holmes. I love Agna, she is very, very funny.
Joanna M.

I liked Professor Moriarty because he acted very well and he danced very well too! His afro wig was very crazy. He was dressed in a long, black and brown coat. Then he took it off and a fabulous suit appeared. He was an excellent dancer and then he felt that the dance was his work and his love. And then he liked dancing with his assistant.
Nicolás A.

Irene is my favourite character. She has got dark, straight hair and brown eyes. She is tall and slim. She wears glasses and a very beautiful blue dress and a hat with flowers on it.
She is a very good actress and she is very beautiful. She dances very well.

Los alumnos de 5º grado tuvieron que describir su escena favorita.

“ My Favourite Scene”
My favourite scene was the one in which Moriarty tried the different potions on Agna, Moriarty’s assistant. One of the potions was red, and it paralized a muscle. The blue potion paralized all the body, and the green one made you follow orders. I liked it because it was funny and made me laugh a lot.
Mateo R.

My favourite scene was the second one, in which Miss Adler went to tell Sherlock Holmes that Moriarty was inviting him to dinner. But he wasn’t at home. Instead of him was Mycroft, his twin brother. He accepted the invitation. I liked this scene because Miss Adler didn’t want to put on her glasses but she couldn’t see anything, so she stepped on Mycroft’s fingers. It was very funny!

Los alumnos de 6º grado tuvieron que relatar un sueño relacionado con Sherlock Holmes y la obra.

“I dreamt that I was Sherlock Holmes for one day”
One day, I dreamt I was Sherlock Holmes and I could solve any case. If there was any question, I could answer it. I was the greatest detective and I was very famous and everyone recognized me in the street.
A man entered my office and told me that someone had stolen Mr. Clark’s cat, but they didn’t know who. So we went to Mr. Clark’s house and asked him a lot of questions. When we were talking, there was a noise at the window. We opened it and guess what we saw…the cat! So we went to every house in the neighbourhood and we asked every neighbour, but everyone told us the same: “I was at home, I didn’t see anything”. We visited every house, but we didn’t get any clue. We walked and walked until we found out something: the cat came to Mr. Jones’s house who always left a piece of cake at his back window so that his wife didn’t find it. We realised that the cat wasn’t stolen, he went on his own to get Mr. Jones’s cake.
Josefina F.

Last night I dreamt I was Sherlock Holmes.
I was in my girlfriend’s house when I heard a very strange noise, it was like very big bells. When we went out, there was nothing so I started investigating. Then I read in the newspaper that someone stole the bells from the church. I went to the church and saw that the bells were missing, but I found the hat. I had seen this hat before and I started thinking about it. I remembered I had seen this hat in the shop of “Golden Bells”. Then I went to the shop to speak to the shop assistant and she said that the owner of the shop always wore a hat like this one except today. So we went to the owner’s house and I talked to him. He was very nervous and finally he said that he had stolen the bells and then I woke up.
It was a very strange dream.

Los alumnos de 7º grado escribieron la crítica.

The New Sherlock is a musical comedy which takes place in a huge house in London. Moriarty, the evil professor and Agna, his assistant want to kill Sherlock. Moriarty’s niece, Irene, is their accomplice.
Without knowing what she is doing, Irene invites Sherlock for dinner, but it isn’t Sherlock she invites, it’s Sherlock’s twin brother, Mycroft.
The cast is good and the script well written. The play is full of jokes and the lights and sound are excellent. It’s a fantastic play.
Children up to 9 would like this play, as well as adults. Don’t miss it, it’s very humorous. You’ll enjoy it!

The New Sherlock is the musical comedy set in a quiet place in England. Moriarty is an evil professor, whose arch-enemy is Sherlock Holmes.
Moriarty uses his niece, the beautiful Irene, who is Sherlock’s big fan to meet him. She goes to Holmes’s house to invite him for dinner because professor Moriarty will try to make him his slave. Sherlock isn’t in town. Instead, his twin brother Mycroft pretends to be Holmes.
Then the surprising performance begins and the play has an unexpected end.
The cast is excellent. I’m sure children of all ages, as well as adults, will love this charming story. It is a highly entertaining play and I strongly recommend it.

The New Sherlock is a love story set in Moriarty’s house. Moriarty is an evil professor who wants to make Sherlock his slave, but, he is not going to meet him, he is going to meet another person. Sherlock Holmes leaves town for a case and when Irene, Professor Moriarty’s niece, goes to invite him for dinner, she invites Mycroft, his twin brother, instead. The play reaches an interesting climax when Mycroft enters Moriarty’s house.
The cast is excellent and all the characters surely have a bright acting career ahead of them. The play is full of interesting scenes and it successfully portrays the importance of being yourself. The light and sound are also good.
The New Sherlock is a play well worth seeing. I would recommend it to children from 9 years old up as well as adults because they will all love this charming story.
